Robert Dempsey takes on role as director of rugby at Roscrea RFC

The management of a modern-day sports club is a gargantuan task with a vast and often expanding range of responsibilities. It is crucial to have dedicated people in all the necessary positions who are committed to the task and willing to volunteer their time and effort to the collective good. Recently Roscrea RFC were delighted to announce that Robert Dempsey will take on the role as Director of Rugby at the club. The purpose of the position is to manage and direct the development and growth of the game at the club while designing a vision for the future in conjunction with the club’s members and managing committee. Robert is ideally suited to the position having a vast rugby knowledge and an in-depth understanding of the structures necessary to succeed in the game. He has coached successfully at the club for several years and has been an important part of the Rugby management team at the nearby Cistercian College. Club President Brendan Hyland thanked Robert for taking on the role and paid special tribute to his predecessor Willie Hayes who had recently completed his 2-year term in the position during which time he focused with great success on developing the underage section of the club.
