Where the rugby journey begins for boys and girls aged 5-12
Start Them Young
Mini rugby at Roscrea RFC provides boys and girls aged 5-12 with a fun, safe introduction to rugby. Our focus is on enjoyment, skill development, and building confidence through age-appropriate activities.
All our mini rugby coaches are qualified and hold child protection certifications. We create a positive, inclusive environment where every child can thrive regardless of ability or experience.
Sessions take place every Sunday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 during the season (September to April). We also participate in regional blitzes and festivals, giving children the opportunity to play against other clubs in a friendly, supportive atmosphere.

Inclusivity
All children welcome regardless of experience or ability. Boys and girls train together in mixed groups.
Schedule
Sunday mornings, 10:30-11:30 (September-April). Additional blitzes and festivals throughout the season.

What You Need to Know
Essential information for parents
Equipment & Clothing
Players should wear comfortable sports clothes appropriate for the weather. Rugby boots with safety studs are recommended but not essential for beginners (trainers are fine to start). A gum shield is essential for all activities.
Membership & Fees
Mini rugby membership is €75 per child per season, with family membership (up to 2 adults + 6 children) available for €75. This covers training, insurance, and a club training shirt. Payment can be made in installments if preferred.
Try Before You Join
Children are welcome to attend up to three sessions free of charge before deciding whether to become members. This gives them a chance to experience mini rugby and ensure they enjoy it before committing.
Parent Involvement
We encourage parents to get involved, whether as spectators, helpers, or even coaches (training provided). The mini section relies on parent volunteers to function effectively. It's also a great way to become part of the club community.
